Netflix and Shondaland announce the start of filming for Bridgerton season 3. This time, the focus of the story is the relationship between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) has finally given up her longtime crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging comments about her last season. However, she has decided it is time to find a husband, preferably someone who will give her enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, away from her mother and sisters. But because of her lack of self-confidence, Penelope’s attempts to find a husband resoundingly fail. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a brazen swagger.
But he is disheartened to realize that Penelope, the only person who has ever liked him the way he was, treats him coldly. Eager to win back her friendship, this season Colin offers to mentor Penelope to help her find a husband. But when his lessons begin to work a little too well, Colin has to figure out whether his feelings for Penelope are really just about friendship. Complicating matters for Penelope is her estrangement from Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friendship in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s increasingly assiduous presence in London high society makes it even more difficult to keep her alter ego of Lady Whistledown a secret.
Pictures from set
The cast is joined by newcomers Daniel Francis (Stay Close),who will play Marcus Anderson, Sam Phillips (The Crown), who will play Lord Debling, and James Phoon (Wreck), who will play Harry Dankworth.
Marcus is a charismatic person who lights up every room he enters, attracting the attention of some high society matriarchs-and the ire of others.
Lord Debling is a genial nobleman with unusual interests, but because of his wealth and title of nobility, he will gain favor with young women during this season.
Young Dankworth’s lack of wit and intelligence is largely compensated for by his beauty.
The series is set in London and produced by Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica and Chris Van Dusen. The new showrunner for the series is Jess Brownell.
Bridgerton Season 2 is available on Netflix.
