Outlander Season 6 production start is just around the corner!

You ready, Outlander fans? The cast is here to make a special announcement: Outlander Season 6 production will start very soon!

Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan on Outlander

To brighten up our Christmas there is always the Outlander cast with some exclusive surprises. Last year the new version of the theme song was released, while this year our protagonists Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin sent us a special video message directly from the costume department at the Outlander studios in Cumbernauld, Scotland. In the video, in addition to the canonical wishes, the actors reassure us, by telling us to be ready because Outlander Season 6 production will start very soon, and precisely next month. So as to welcome 2021 with a bang and erase all the sadness and anxiety that 2020 has brought into our lives.

Season 6 of the STARZ time-travel drama, Outlander, will see several news, as the actors tease in the video. Even though they can’t give many spoilers because of those who haven’t read the books, we’ll see a lot more of modern Brianna, in terms of her engineering skills, which makes her interpreter Sophie Skelton very excited, and also we won’t lack occasions in which Claire saves everyone with her medical knowledge beyond the limits of time. Furthermore, as Sam Heughan teases, Fraser’s Ridge will see the arrival of many new settlers! Among these, there will also be personalities well known to the Frasers, such as Tom Christie and his daughter Malva. But that doesn’t necessarily mean good things…

Caitriona Balfe and Josh Horowitz for the podcast Happy Sad Confused

Caitriona Balfe was recently guest of Josh Horowitz’s podcast “Happy, Sad, Confused” and spoke about this very issue.

The actress revealed that their first thought in talking about resuming Outlander’s production was everyone being safe, and especially they didn’t want to produce a “Covid-friendly” version of the show.

“We want to have intimate scenes,” Balfe said, noting that the classic Outlander love scenes and group scenes are important to their show. Well, it sounds like it will be worth the wait.

While she’s excited to return to set, Balfe’s also very nervous too because of Covid. Outlander cast loves to chat and hang out a lot on set together, and it will be strange to possibly have to be removed from everyone because of the situation.
