Sophia Bush made her return to primetime on January 5, 2022, with the series premiere of her new series Good Sam, which was easily defeated by Chicago PD in the battle of the network timeslots.
In its debut episode, Good Sam with Sophia Bush drew a mere 2.7 million total viewers, easily bested by the night’s new Chicago PD. The latter pulled in an impressive 6 million total viewers and topped the 10 p.m. timeslot.

Not only did Good Sam fall flat against Chicago PD. It’s debut audience of 2.7 million total viewers made it CBS’s lowest debut of the 2021-22 season thus far. The network’s least-watched original series of the season thus far.
Will Good Sam starring Sophia Bush be canceled?
At this time, it’s far too early to know whether CBS will pull the plug on Good Sam but we have to confess the early numbers for the series aren’t the greatest. Despite a lot of positive buzz leading up to its debut, the series premiere episode viewership figure was far from stellar.
If the series is unable to improve upon its viewership totals in the weeks ahead and via its delayed viewership totals, it’s quite possible CBS could look to pull the plug.
