An unexpected farewell for Il Commissario Ricciardi Season 2!

A reunion that seemed like the beginning of something but then turned out to be a farewell!

Last week, for his birthday, Lino Guanciale met with Alessandro D’Alatri and Maurizio De Giovanni, rispectively the director and creator of the Il Commissario Ricciardi series. The reunion was documented on their Instagram accounts and what seemed to be a beginning for il Commissario Ricciardi Season 2 turned out to be an unexpected farewell.

Alessandro D’Alatri says goodbye to Il Commissario Ricciardi Season 2!

In fact, in the comments below the picture posted by the director Alessandro D’Alatri, someone asked him when they’ll be back on the screen. His answer made the blood of many fans freeze: he won’t be returning as director for Il Commissario Ricciardi Season 2.

Alas, never again. I won’t be there, and with regret. I love the project, the cast, the stories by Maurizio De Giovanni. But there are values that are not marketable. One over all? Dignity. […] No, not for me. I haven’t been asked to, and I don’t want to deal with some people ever again anyway. […] The picture expresses all the esteem, friendship and solidarity possible. And this will never be taken away by anyone

These are the various comments released by the director of Il Commissario Ricciardi Season 1 and fans have all gathered in support of the man with words of regret for the loss. D’Alatri’s direction has been masterful and innovative and has been able to best convey on the small screen the history and humanity of De Giovanni’s novel.

When will Il Commissario Ricciardi 2 return?

It isn’t known yet who had the honor to take the place of Alessandro D’Alatri as director of Il Commissario Ricciardi 2 but it’s expected to air on Raiuno between the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023 with another 6 new episodes.

What do you think of these statements?

Don’t miss Lino Guanciale on his upcoming projects!
