Down-to-earth, fun and quite lovely as well, Anthony Turpel started from the origins of his joining the Love Victor cast, through his experience on the show and his favourite scenes, to give fans an exclusive preview of what they can expect from Season 3, the final season. Watch our exclusive interview to find out more!
Tell us Anthony, what is the main element of the series and the character that fascinates you the most and drew you to join this amazing show that’s Love Victor?
ANTHONY TURPEL: I really loved his constant support like no matter what. I just really like that about the character and him like really being someone you could like rely and lean on was like a I thought would be a really cool thing to play and so that’s what I was like most excited for about the character and also just like you know, his constant quips and his antics, I thought, was really fun. And so yeah, yeah, that’s kind of what like drew me to the character when I went in.
Considering the journey Felix has had over the course of the series, what has been the biggest challenge you have experienced in playing him?
AT: I would say the transition. Between season 1 to season 2 because we had to like… Season 1 and season 2 Felix, we expanded the character to such a degree that like to find that element of where it’s still the character in this situation was definitely a thinker for a minute. So, I would say, probably the biggest challenge in playing Felix is like trying to find that duality

Speaking of season 3, which will be released next month, what can you tease about Felix’s storyline?
AT: Ah. I’m always so nervous to spoil something. I’ll say this. I can say this, Felix and Pilar’s relationship, and how that develops. I feel like that’s going to be obvious. […] Just like you know, Felix and Pilar’s relationship and like Felix and Michael’s character, Victor, and you know, how they support each other.
What does the future hold for Lake and Felix in Love Victor Season 3?
AT: Well, where we leave off [in the Season 2 finale], I mean, Felix and Pilar are together and then something might be happening with Lake and Lucy and so really, it’s like, we’re going to see those dynamics and also, kind of like, see how that affects each other and so that’s kind of how much I can tease about it. Then working with Bebe’s incredible. I’ve been working with her for three years now and every time I get on set, she is so much fun to play with and she’s an incredible actress, as everyone knows, and incredible comedic timing. And so, like, every time I’m on set with her, it’s a joy. So yeah, I love working with Bebe. She’s incredible.

And in terms of the friendship with Victor and Pilar, what can we expect?
Anthony Turpel: You know, it’s basically us developing more of what we already started, and so, you know, Victor and Felix’s relationship, and basically how they lean on each other and are there for support and then this new thing that’s coming around with Pilar and Felix and basically trying to figure out what is that dynamic or what is going on with that type of relationship and, you know, as these two teens are just trying to figure out life what’s going on there

If you had to choose one character, apart from Felix, in Love Victor, that you would have loved to play, which one would it be?
Anthony Turpel: Oof. I got a couple. I would say Andrew, because I think it’d be hilarious if I was a bully. […] To be honest, Bebe’s character [Lake] would be fun, or Pilar, just so I could like be a little sassy. Or George’s character [Benji], because he has cool clothes.
