EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW – Ashley Newbrough Discusses ‘Mountain Rescue Romance’ on Love in Glacier National: A National Park Romance! – WATCH

Ashley Newbrough and Stephen Huszar star in “Love in Glacier National: A National Park Romance” a new, original movie premiered Saturday, January 28 on Hallmark Channel. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with actress Ashley Newbrough about her experience in the making of the movie and what fans can expect. Check out the full interview in the video below!

What’s the main element in Heather’s character and the movie in general that fascinates you the most and drew you to join Love in Glacier National: A National Park Romance?

ASHLEY NEWBROUGH: I’d have to say what drew me to this story was being able to film and work on a mountain. I’ve never done that before, so that seemed very exciting and Heather seemed like a a fun role to play.

How would you describe Love in Glacier National: A National Park Romance in just 3 words?

Mountain. Rescue. Romance.

What’s been the biggest challenge for you in portraying Heather?

The biggest challenge for this one would be to make sure I get all my lines out properly before my face freezes because we were shooting in minus 20 degree weather. So it was very, very cold and sometimes partway through a scene I could feel my face start to just freeze over and it became difficult to speak.

Where are you and Heather most similar and where most different as human being?

I’d say Heather and I are mostly different, sadly, based on our skiing skill set. I wish I had those kinds of challenges, but unfortunately I am very much an amateur and I have a long way to go, but I do enjoy skiing. Definitely not any black Diamond, mountain or Backcountry level of skiing, but beginner stuff is my sweet spot. So that’s our biggest difference and I wasn’t very good in science in school. And then as for our similarities, I think our willingness to try new things and our curiosity would have to be a big similarity.

If you could choose any other character from Love in Glacier National: A National Park Romance, apart from Heather, that you would have loved to play, which one would it be and why?

I don’t want to play Tegan Mathis character who played my sister because she was hilarious and and she got to do the Snow Angel in the snow. Although I wouldn’t want to film that part. Maybe that would be a little painful, but it she just had so much fun. I thought she did such a great job with the role and I think she was funny. She had some funny lines and I think that’s the one I’d want to play.

Talking about your past project, how was your experience on the set of tv show “Privileged”? What is your favourite memory about your time as “Sage Baker” and with your castmates?

That feels like forever ago, but that was my privilege. It was my first introduction to what it was like to be a part of a show. And it’s what got me to move out to LA. So it was a very, very exciting time in my life and it meant everything to me. And Rena Mamoon, our creator, writer, producer, she was one of the first people I met in LA. And that was magical because she’s an incredible human and getting to work and meet Lucy, that was amazing.

We hit it off right away and she introduced me to what Pinkberry was because Grant in Canada we don’t have Pinkberry and it was mentioned in the script and so the first thing we did. After we met was we went and got Pinkberry and went for pedicures, so that was fun. It’s hard to pick just one, but that whole experience was truly magical, and it was amazing to be a part of that.
