The new Lifetime Thriller movie, Taken in Montana, premiered on the channel on Saturday September 9, 2023. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with director Kaila York about her experience in the making of Taken in Montana and what fans can expect from the movie.
Can you tell us a bit about the storyline of “Taken in Montana”?
Taking to Montana is about the Gerard family’s last vacation together before their daughter Reagan goes off to college. And once they get to Montana, some family secrets are revealed that result in the family being put in a very dangerous situation.
What initially attracted you to the story in “Taken in Montana”?
It was two really great female characters at the heart of the movie and this really interesting mother-daughter relationship and dynamic that was going on between Sarah, the mother, and Reagan, the daughter. And they start out the film at odds with each other as most mother-daughter relationships, go through when they are at that teenager phase. By the end of the film, they understand each other a little bit better.
