Sarah Fisher and Simon Arblaster star in the new Great American Family Christmas movie Peppermint and Postcards, premiering December 10 at 8/7c as a part of the Great American Christmas line-up. We at Survived the Shows had the incredible chance to speak with star Ella Cannon, who teased GAC’s Peppermint and Postcards and her experience in the movie. What initially attracted you to your role in Peppermint & Postcards?
ELLA CANNON: Cara is such a wonderful character because I think she represents what so many single mums and just people in general go through in their search for love. She’s been putting everyone else first for so long that she’s forgotten. She deserves her own happiness, too. She’s got a lot of walls out because getting back out to dating is scary, but as the story progresses, so too does her journey of opening back up to life and love and fun, and that was such a blast to play.
What do you think makes the romance in the movie so special and captivating?
ELLA CANNON: What I love about the romance in this movie is that we get to meet a whole bunch of different suitors. And even though most of them were never going to be right for Cara, it’s just a reminder that we’re all looking for the same things and there’s someone out there for everyone.
What do you hope audiences take away from watching Peppermint & Postcards?
ELLA CANNON: I hope the viewers walk away from this film with a reminder that putting yourself back out there doesn’t have to be terrifying. It can also be really fun, and as long as we keep our hearts open, we might just find the person who was meant for us in the most unexpected of ways.
