Kristi Murdock and Justin Cook will star in “Something’s Brewing” a new, original movie premiering Sunday, March 5 at 7 p.m. on UP TV. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with Kristi Murdock about her experience in the making of the movie and what fans can expect. Check out the full interview in the video below!

What’s the main element in Jane’s character and show in general that fascinates you the most and drew you to join Something’s Brewing?

KRISTI MURDOCK: I would say Jane – she starts out this movie with two big life changing things that happen: Spoiler alert, she loses her job and she loses her boyfriend. I think, as a woman, we can all relate to something like that happening either one or the other. I certainly can.

For example, I went into a job that I had one day, like a marketing job, which is exactly what Jane had, and I got called to my boss’s office and they were like, ‘OK, we have to lay you off, we don’t have any more money for this position’. And it came out of nowhere, and I was shocked. It really shook up my life. It’s something like that really jolts you awake, and it kind of changes the direction of your life sometimes, and a breakup can change the direction of your life, a job loss. So I think that’s one thing that really drew me to this character, it’s really so relatable.

Where are you and Jane most similar and where most different as human beings?

I think where were most similar is how Jane at first is a creature of habit. Then all of a sudden, when her life gets shaken up, she kind of turns into a risk taker and far more spontaneous and I think that me myself, I am more like that, spontaneous and a risk taker. And I’m like, ‘You know what, let’s just try it and see what happens’. So when Jane changes and she has that kind of shift, that is where she shifts more into me, I think.

To all the fans looking forward to watching the new season, how would you describe Something’s Brewing in just 3 words?

Charming, Fun and Entertaining

What can you tease about Jane and her handsome barista’s relationship throughout the movie?

I think it’s kind of something very relatable when you meet someone and you everybody has their own kind of baggage right. When you first start dating someone and you’re like ‘well should I tell this person this? When should I tell this person this’. If you have a a big life secret, if you have a kid, if you have a you know an ex-wife, if you’ve been divorced, when do you tell that person those things?

And sometimes keeping those things secret for a little too long can cause a little bit more problems than they should. So I think that’s one thing that Jane and the other character go through and the movie is like that weird dance in the beginning of just starting out a relationship. It’s like he’s hiding something, but I don’t know what. And how can I get to the bottom of these things. Sometimes they can make us a little crazy and do things that we wouldn’t normally do.

If you could choose any other character from Something’s Brewing, apart from Jane, you would have loved to play, which one would it be and why?

I would probably be the nonsense advice giving best friend and because that’s more of who I am like my friends always call me for advice and like ‘What do I do?’ and typically me Kristi as a human, I don’t always go and ask people for advice, I’ll figure it out on my own. Like, I don’t really ask for help a whole lot. So that’s where I differ a lot from Jane because Jane is constantly going to her best friend and she’s like, ‘What do I do? I don’t know what to do’ because, you know, this whole situation with David is just making her a little crazy. So I think if I was to play another character, it would definitely have to be like my best friend.
