Kristina Cole & Russell Quinn star in “Romantic Rewrite” a new, original movie premiering Saturday, February 4 at 8/7c on Great American Family. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with Kristina Cole about the making of this movie, teasing what fans can expect. Check out the full interview below!

Kristina Cole

What’s the main element in Ivy’s character and the movie in general that fascinates
you the most and drew you to join Romantic Rewrite?

Oh man, I love how Ivy knows how good she is at what she does. She doesn’t doubt her capabilities for a second. It’s so cool to see a woman who is confident in herself and her worth.

As we know quite well so far, GAC movies and shows always feature well-shaped and relatable characters – Where are you and Ivy most similar and where most different as human beings?

Well, I brought a lot of my own clumsiness to Ivy, so we definitely have that in common- but in all seriousness, I think we both love our work. But no question, Ivy is definitely more confident than me. I hope some of that rubbed off!

What’s been the biggest challenge for you in portraying Ivy?

Without any hesitation it was roller skating. I had never been on roller skates a day in my life! Everyone thought I was being modest or hyperbolic when I said that! When we got to the day, we started to roller skate and everything you see is 100% real. Just me holding onto my costar for dear life! In the end I think it made for a really charming moment, but let’s just say all those pads weren’t in the script…

To all the fans looking forward to watching the movie, how would you describe Romantic Rewrite in just 3 words?

Happily Ever After!

What can you tease about Ivy’s and Reed’s journey throughout the movie?

Hmm…that it’s all in the collaboration!

Talking about the environment on set, how would you describe your experience while filming Romantic Rewrite and do you have any fun anecdotes to share?

We shot in Miami on beautiful beaches virtually every day, so the literal environment was unbeatable! I love working with our director Damian Romay and his crew. I’d say our morning dance parties with hair, makeup, and costumes were a highlight. Allee-Sutton (who plays my sister) and I would spend our time getting ready trying to make each other laugh and get the whole room in a good mood.

If you could choose any other character from Romantic Rewrite, apart from Ivy, that you would have loved to play, which one would it be and why?

Oooh! What a good question! I think I’d want to play Zach. I never get to play the bad guy (Spoiler Alert LOL).

Did you take anything from set, any prop or piece of costume, to remember your
experience as Ivy?

I actually did! I bought the dress I wear at the very end of the movie. Our costume designer and I became fast friends. The dress was really fitted but flattering, I loved it so much. I even joked that it would be so cute as maternity wear someday. Sure, enough I got pregnant right after shooting Romantic Rewrite and happily wore it bump and all!
