Can you tell us a bit about your character in A Christmas Castle Proposal?
Erica is the brash New York publicist or book publisher and she’s just one of those that’s kind of representative in the film, of the kind of work obligations that Olivia, played by Rhiannon Fish, has in the film. And so she’s kind of like constantly driving the hard line to her, like we’re going to do this and I need you to do this and this is your deadline. The sort of thing people like to escape from.
What initially attracted you to your role in this movie?
I like strong women. I like to think of myself as a character actress and that’s sort of the way my career has unfolded. So I really enjoyed that. I don’t think I’ve ever really played a character like that before. Weirdly enough, I modelled it on a friend of mine. I probably won’t say her name because she’s known and I haven’t told her that I modelled the character on her, but it was just like such a fun physicality to embody and just a really fun role. She’s fast talking, it’s snappy dialogue. It’s the kind of thing you can kind of really sink your teeth into. And also the production company, Jaggy Pictures, they shoot their films in my hometown. I had always wanted to work with them. I love rom-coms. So there are a lot of things that made me excited about the project.
