Natalie Polisson, Jason Tobias, and Daniel O’Reilly star in the movie My Child has my Doctor’s Face premiering on Lifetime Channel on Saturday April 20th, 2024 at 8/7c. We at Survived The Shows had the incredible chance to talk with lead Jason Tobias, who teased the movie and her experience in ‘My Child has my Doctor’s Face’. Check out the full interview below!

Can you tell us a bit about your character in My Child has my Doctor’s Face?

He’s a good guy who’s caught in a tough position. He has to try and trust the person that he loves when everything in him is challenged… there’s a lot of conflict with ‘who’ is holding the truth as the story plays out.

What initially attracted you to your role in My Child has my Doctor’s Face?

An opportunity to work is always an attraction 🙂 This is a very challenging industry and the opportunities don’t always come around. Working with the team of Robert Ballo and Nikki Layson, was definitely a factor coupled with working with Joshua Butler, who’s an incredible actor’s director!

What do you think makes this movie so special and captivating?

The timeliness of the subject matter and how it’s captured the public and national headlines. This has been seen more and more and no one can fathom the extent that these doctor’s have gone… it’s truly mind-boggling.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching My Child has my Doctor’s Face?

That there’s a nefarious and ‘dark side’ to the world of IVF that hasn’t been totally talked about. This would be heart wrenching to experience and the fact that it’s happened more than once is utterly terrifying. The connection that Dylan and Jessica have is one that’s tested to its limits and everyone – everywhere – can understand those challenges.

What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?

AMAZING! Everyone was such a blast to be around. Daniel is hilarious. Natalie is a sweetheart and Viron was cracking me up constantly. Loved the experience and every minute.

What can you tease about your character Journey?

For as much as the doubt covers Dylan’s world for a good amount of the film, he does learn to ‘trust’ his instincts… that’s all I’ll say.

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming My Child has my Doctor’s Face?

There’s a beat where I am leaving because of some information that my character found out and I have to confront my wife and I have to give a heartfelt goodbye to my son. That was a challenging day to really find the nuance in the performance and show that truth. You can’t just yell and ‘be mad’, but at the same time be able to hold it together for your child – so the rollercoaster of emotions was definitely going off on that day.

Change of subject, What have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?

Anything where the challenges of production seem to put blocks in front of the team that we all overcome. Those are the projects you look back on and laugh about how ‘hard’ it was to shoot things and how ‘crazy’ things were to make things happen. It started to become more of a ‘trial of fire’ in the beginning and as I’ve grown and worked on more and more professional sets, I still find myself smiling when I think about those ‘challenging times’.

What can you share about your time in the movie “Vanished in Yosemite”?

That it was an absolutely incredible place to shoot and I highly recommend everyone to be able to share their time there if they haven’t been. With all the challenges that shoot offered, there was still an immense amount of excitement and leadership shown by our Director, Doug Campbell. He set the tone for that shoot and we had to make a movie in one of the most beautiful places on the planet… who could ask for more?

Can you tease something about your next projects?

I have something coming up that hinges on Action and Horror. Two genres that I absolutely LOVE. This one has been cooking for a minute so I’m very excited to release the details when the time is right! PLEASE STAY TUNED 🙂

“My Child has my Doctor’s Face” starring Jason Tobias will premiere on Saturday, April 20th on Lifetime Channel.
