We at Survived the Shows had the incredible chance to speak with lead Jess Brown, who teased Lifetime’s Death Down the Aisle and her experience in the movie. Can you tell us a bit about your character in Death Down The Aisle?
So Mallory is an independent artist, and we meet her at the top of the film, where she’s about to walk down the aisle. So the happiest moment of her life, and it quickly comes crashing down. So throughout the film, we watch her kind of struggle with that loss and that trauma that she experiences. We’re all going through a whole lot of other stuff as well, so it’s been a really interesting ride, kind of trying to navigate that for her, and it was a lot of fun.
What initially attracted you to your role in Death Down The Aisle?
When I first read the synopsis and when I was going through the audition process, I was actually going through loss of my own. And so I immediately kind of felt connected to Mallory and what she was going through. And it was an interesting outlet in a way, because I was able to kind of experience the loss that I was having, but on camera. So when I booked the role, I was really excited to tackle that. I mean, for many reasons. I think as actors, one of the most fun things to do is put yourself through emotional trauma on screen for some reason. So, you know, having to tackle a role where you had to come in and cry every day and feel that emotion, especially when I was kind of already in that mindset, was a really interesting time, for sure.
