Leigha Sinnott and Sam Bullington, star in the movie ‘Stalked by my Amish Boyfriend’ premiered on Lifetime Channel on Sunday August 11th, 2024 at 8/7c. We at Survived The Shows had the incredible chance to talk with lead Leigha Sinnott , who teased the movie and her experience in Stalked by my Amish Boyfriend. Check out the full interview below!

Can you tell us a bit about your character in Stalked By My Amish Boyfriend ?
At the start of the film, Carly is entering into the summer before her senior year of college. She’s had a rough go of it- her mother has recently passed away, and she’s away from her best friend for the first summer ever. As hard as her mother’s death was, Carly tries to enter into her future with positivity. She’s excited to branch out on her own and create some lasting memories… and may get more than she bargains for!
What initially attracted you to your role in Stalked By My Amish Boyfriend ?
When I’m reading a script, I am attracted to roles where I get to live experiences I have never been close to. Carly goes through some trials in this film, and I loved her tenacity and her survival instincts!
What do you think makes this movie so special and captivating?
I think “Stalked By My Amish Boyfriend” takes the audience on a journey of twists and turns that they’ll never see coming.
What do you hope audiences take away from watching Stalked By My Amish Boyfriend ?
I hope the audience allows themselves to dive into Carly’s journey, and enjoy the ride. Without spoilers, the women show up for the women in this movie, and we love to see girls support each other!
What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?
We had an incredible cast and crew working on this film! My costar Sam Bullington was an incredible scene partner and we carried this film together everyday. The movie wouldn’t be what it is without his talent, his insight, and dedication. He brought so much to the role of Abram to make him pop from page to screen. Courtney Grace plays my best friend Jenna in the film, and from the first moment we met it was like we were friends forever. She’s an amazing actor and all our scenes together felt so natural. My father in the film, John Castle, always kept me on my toes and was quick to make everyone on set laugh! He was so witty, talented, and charming. He was an absolute joy to be around and work with! Our supporting cast were also all so awesome. It’s a uniquely difficult experience to show up for only a few days of a shoot, and nail it. Nick Clark and Samantha Binkerd made it look easy with their poise and talent. Most of the crew had worked together on previous films, and welcomed us all in with open arms. Together, with our fearless producers Ken Sanders and Lisa France, we all made a great team!
What can you tease about your character Journey?
Carly has a heart condition in the film… and despite her health challenges, it may end up being life saving after all… 😊
What was your favorite scene or moment while filming Stalked By My Amish Boyfriend ?
The final scene of the film was probably my favorite to shoot. It’s a particularly long sequence, with many camera set ups and fight choreography. Sam and I worked hard to maintain the intensity of the scene while remaining in control and safe with each other. In the film, the scene may be around 2 minutes, but we shot the sequence in full about 30 times. An entire night of the filming was dedicated to just this one scene. Once we wrapped the night, I felt very proud of everyone involved.
Change of subject, What have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?
I have been fortunate to be a part of many wonderful projects in my career, but right now my most memorable would probably be my other Lifetime Movie “A Predator Returns.” It was my first time leading a film, and we shot the film during the height of COVID. We were the first film to safely finish production in the state of Connecticut, USA during the pandemic. I made great friends who taught me so much about the technicality of working on camera. An experience I’ll never forget- and you can stream the movie on Lifetime’s website or Amazon Prime, if you want to check it out!
At Survived the Shows, we are big fans of Christmas rom-coms. What is your all-time favorite?
GREAT question, I love Christmas movies it’s so hard to choose! I think an all time favorite would be “The Holiday” (if I want to cry happy tears) and “Just Friends” (if I want to cry with laughter). I hope one day I get to lead a Christmas movie as fun as both of these!
Can you tease something about your next projects?
I have a project in the works, that would be an episodic series about the lives of local and visiting young adults living in a coastal town in Maine- without revealing too much, I’m really excited at the prospect! My husband Rowan Vickers and I recently moved back to New York City, as he just ended a year long Broadway National Tour (shoutout to the amazing cast of “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical”!). We both attended Juilliard’s Drama Division, and while I have been able to do some plays since graduating, I’m excited to get back on stage one day very soon!
“Stalked by my Amish Boyfriend” starring Leigha Sinnott will premiered on Sunday, August 11th on Lifetime Channel.
