Can you tell us a bit about your character in The Killer I picked up?
Angela, she’s been widowed, unfortunately, and finds herself in financial straits, she starts to become an Uberland driver or a rideshare driver, and she ends up picking up somebody who presents themselves as her hero, and it turns out that they are actually something like a bad guy. So that’s sort of the adventure ensues from there.
What initially attracted you to your role in The Killer I picked up?
Well, I really, I love the director, Annie Bradley. I’ve worked with her before. I actually took some acting classes. She’s one of those directors who likes to get into the dirt with actors. So she has taken acting classes before, and I’ve worked with her on a couple of smaller projects. So I was so excited to find out that she was attached. And I also really loved the story. Her relationship with her daughter is really strong, and they really rely on each other. And so I loved that dynamic. And I also love the dynamic of her really having agency over her life, that when something is wrong, she goes out and she gets the extra job, somebody is maybe not so safe. She will, you know, protect herself. So I really liked how much agency the character had.
