We at Survived the Shows had the incredible chance to speak with star Steve Belford, who teased Lifetime’s Daddy’s Deadly Secret and his experience in the movie. Can you tell us a bit about your character in Daddy’s Deadly Secret?
His name is Doug. He’s a handy man looking after his family. Not sure if this is, if we come to learn this yet or not, but I think he’s a stepfather in it, so he’s doing the best he can to be a great dad, a great role model.
What initially attracted you to your role in Daddy’s Deadly Secret?
What attracted me to it is Doug is a man of few words. He’s very, he does become more vocal later on, but he’s very quiet, keeps to himself. A lot of the scenes that we’re in, I might only have had a couple lines, but it’s a challenge for an actor when you’re in these situations because there’s a lot of work that goes on to just sit there and listen. There’s a lot of internal monologue that you have to lay down or else you just kind of sitting there boring. And that’s not what it’s about. There’s a lot of stuff happening, even if you’re not saying anything. I think in life, when somebody’s not saying something, there’s a lot of stuff going on.
