Lifetime Movie Network ‘s thriller movie “Sins in the Family”, premiered on the channel on Thursday, November 2, 2023. We at Survived The Shows had the chance to chat via email with star Meghan Heffern and discuss the movie and her experience in the production. Check out the full interview below!
Can you tell us a bit about your character in Sins in the Family?
MEGHAN HEFFERN: I play Haley. A mysterious new guidance councillor in town.
What initially attracted you to your role in “Sins in the Family”?
MEGHAN HEFFERN: This character was very out of the norm for me which was exciting. When I auditioned, I didn’t think I had a shot. It was a surprise and a challenge when I got the call. I love to play around with being the Red Herring.
What do you think makes the action in the movie so special and captivating?
MEGHAN HEFFERN: I think the thing that makes the action special is that it really revolves around what you would do for your family. How far would you go.
What do you hope audiences take away from watching “Sins in the Family”?
MEGHAN HEFFERN: It’s a fun thriller. All I can ask is that people have a little fun and feel less alone. Thats what these movies are for.
What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?
MEGHAN HEFFERN: The cast was amazing. We all had a great time goofing off between takes. I find the cast gets goofier the more serious the subject matter gets.
What was your favorite scene or moment while filming “Sins in the Family”?
MEGHAN HEFFERN: I loved shooting all the big scenes in the school with Natalie Sharp. She such a wonderful actress to be in scenes with. The big action scene at the end was super fun as well.
Can you tell us about any challenges you faced while filming “Sins in the Family” and how you overcame them?
MEGHAN HEFFERN: It was really cold and we had a massive snow fall in Vancouver the first week of shooting. When I say massive I mean MASSIVE.
Change of subject, What have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?
MEGHAN HEFFERN: I talk about this a lot but I doubt my feeling will ever change. I absolutely loved working on Wynonna Earp. It opened my world to an amazing fan base and I loved the experience of being in the Earp universe. I also loved making the CBC gem series “ How To Buy a Baby” about an infertile couple going through IVF. It was a very meaningful experience.
Can you tease something about your next projects?
MEGHAN HEFFERN: I have been working with Hallmark quite a bit which has been a blast. Retreat to You is currently airing on W and Hallmark and a top secret Hallmarkie will be released in Feb I believe. That one is going to be a blast I promise!
