Can you tell us a bit about your character in A Christmas Castle Proposal?
Well, this is the second time that we see Prince Alexander on screen, but it’s the first time that we see him in his castle, in his home, and he is lucky enough to have brought the girl of his dreams finally to somewhere that he holds dearly. And this time around, as in comparison to the first one, we see him still facing challenges of the royal life, as well as juggling a relationship and also trying to take care of this foundation that his father started and that he feels so strongly about and that he loves so dearly as much as his family and also Olivia. So we see Alexander trying to hold up the world on his shoulders, and as a lot of males do, thinking that they can do so much more by themselves than maybe they. They can.
And so we see Alexander’s journey through the movie trying to also throw in a proposal out of all things, and thinking that it’s the best time to do that, and being completely out of touch within himself about when is that perfect time to make the proposal?
So, yeah, it was a lot of fun. Being able to dive back into Alexander because he is such a fun character. And I’m Australian, and playing someone who is of British descent and of the royal life. It’s a dream, really. That’s kind of, I think, a lot of actors dreams, and I got to do it twice so far in the space of two years is pretty amazing. And it’s all down to the fans, I think, the fans of the franchise and the movie, the people that love this story. So I think people are going to really, really come along with Alexander this time and really be rooting for him so much more than they did in the first one, and really rooting for him and Olivia’s relationship to go the whole distance, basically.
What can you tease about your character Journey?
He’s very good at thinking he has the right words, but when it comes to the moment, he fumbles a lot and We definitely see that. I can also tease that, like me, Alexander thinks that he’s not a stress head and can handle a lot of workloads, but that’s where the comedy comes into it and he cannot at all. So I think a lot of people are going to be able to relate to that. And I think what I can tease also is that Alexander looks pretty good in the suit, I think as well. But I’ll leave that up to the opinion of people who watch it. I felt pretty good in the suit, even though it was very hot. Desiree, when we were filming, very hot and we’re filming a Christmas movie that was meant to be that.
Well, that is set in winter. There’s snow pouring outside the castle, but underneath the suit was. There was a lot of sweat going on. Because they have us in these suits and these jackets and these coats and scarves and gloves and like many of these movies, they shoot it in the opposite season. So I think there’s a few teases there that people should definitely look out for.
