Eloise Mumford, Dan Jeannotte and Brenda Strong will star in “Sweeter than Chocolate” a new, original movie premiering Saturday, February 4 (8 p.m. ET/PT) on Hallmark Channel. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with Nik Andrews about his experience in the making of Sweeter than Chocolate and what fans can expect. Check out full interview below!

What’s the main element in Wyatt’s character and the movie in general that fascinates you the most and drew you to join Sweeter than Chocolate?

OK, so with Wyatt’s character, I think the most fascinating thing is he is desensitized to other people’s emotions. So I think it’s a interesting thing to play someone that is not perhaps in tune with reading the room, not being able to understand how other people are feeling in the moment and that’s just a delicate thing to play. What’s too much and what’s too little of that. As far as the the movie in general, I think you know, it’s got such interesting wholesome characters in it. Pablo in particular is one of my personal favorites who you’ll see in the movie as well. And I just think the way that all the characters play nicely with each other and creating the story is just very, very light, heartwarming and all of the all of the nice things that you would expect from a hallmark film.

Where are you and Wyatt most similar and where most different as human beings?

I think where we are very different is the fact that I can generally read a room pretty well. So when I say something I’m quite empathetic with how people feel towards that thing and I will cater my responses afterwards to that. Where I think we’re similar is probably in in the business minded aspect of it. He’s quite. He’s quite. Driven by his career intentions and I think that’s probably the closest resemblance a little bit to an extent. So that’s that’s certainly where I can find a similarity.

What’s been the biggest challenge for you in portraying Wyatt?

I think it is finding that balance and it’s something that David Weaver and I talked about and worked on set, what’s too much and what’s too little of Wyatt as far as how he acts and how he treats other people in the scene. And I think we certainly played with that spectrum where we shot a few scenes where it was very big in spectrum and very wild. And then we went a little bit smaller and then we found kind of where Wyatt sits and in that happy medium.

To all the fans looking forward to watching the movie, how would you describe Sweeter than Chocolate in just 3 words?

3 words. Effortless. Warm. Foxy.

If you could choose any other character from Sweeter than Chocolate, apart from Wyatt, that you would have loved to play, which one would it be and why?

I would love to play Dean’s character. I’ll challenge Dan on that just because I think he’s one of the harsh contrast of why it’s character and I think where. Why it fails is precisely where Dean. Is able to grow as a character and showcases that growth and adaptability because Dean’s character starts off with one that is highly skeptical of Luby’s business and ideas and all of that and the charm, but the evolution of that is certainly a fun one to explore and is certainly a fun one to play.
