Lifetime Movie Network ‘s thriller movie “She Inherited Danger”, is all set to premiere on the channel on Wedneday, November 8, 2023 at 8/7c. We at Survived The Shows had the chance to chat via email with actor Preston Ward, who plays James, about his experience on Lifetime’s She Inherited Danger and his career in general. Check out the full interview below!

Can you tell us a bit about your character in She Inherited Danger?
PRESTON WARD: My character in the film is James “Jimmy” Malloy, a former Marine who is now a real estate agent back in his small Oklahoma hometown.
What initially attracted you to your role in “She Inherited Danger”?
I have always been drawn to antagonistic and troubled characters. James is a former Marine with PTSD trying to find normalcy in his life when Carly, his high school crush, comes back into his life. It’s the perfect storm for a character like James.
What do you think makes the action in the movie so special and captivating?
Witnessing good people make bad choices is always very interesting. The action in this movie has a lot to do with characters being conflicted and “forced” into violent situations, stemming from greed and envy.
What do you hope audiences take away from watching “She Inherited Danger”?
I just hope they enjoy the ride! It has twists and turns, love triangles and some fun and unique characters.
What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?
It was honestly a dream. Everyone was so kind, professional and fun. I think we all knew we were experiencing something special while shooting the movie. That environment was created by a wonderful cast, crew and director, Peter Foldy.
What can you tease about your character’s journey?
There’s a reason why some people refer to Jimmy as “James.” Something in his past, perhaps…
What was your favorite scene or moment while filming “She Inherited Danger”?
The fight choreography and weapons training were a huge highlight for me! Our weapons master, also known as an armorer, was highly trained and a former Marine himself. He not only helped me with handling guns but also with the character. I am very grateful for that unexpected relationship on set.
Can you tell us about any challenges you faced while filming “She Inherited Dander” and how you overcame them?
On the final day of shooting, we were working outside all day, and it was over 100 degrees. It made you go a little crazy at times. However, the cast and crew powered through, and I feel like it really elevated some of the performances.
Change of subject, What have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?
“She Inherited Danger” will always be incredibly special to me. It was a dream-come-true to have the opportunity to play an antagonist in a Lifetime Movie, and I was able to work with long-time friend and mentor, Peter Foldy. Another very memorable experience came early in my career when I came on set as an extra in the film “Confessions of a Teenage Jesus Jerk.” It was directed by the legendary Eric Stoltz, and he was kind enough to give me extra camera time and essentially grant me an actual character in the movie. I learned things watching him work that will be with me always.
Can you tease something about your next projects?
I am very excited about a project I just wrapped in which I play a deranged genius who runs a vast online scam operation called “GirlNextDoor.com.” It’s dark and adventurous; my kind of story.
