The new Lifetime Thriller movie, Nightmare Pageant Moms, premiered on the channel on Friday May 26, 2023. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with star Sallie Glaner about her experience in the making of Nightmare Pageant Moms and what fans can expect from the movie.
Can you tell us a bit about your character in Nightmare Pageant Moms?
It was just kind of fun to play this this quintessential Pageant Mom Nightmare. And the several of the contestants and actresses also had a pageant background. So we just all kind of just had fun, like with our pageant sorority, sort of feel on set and playing, playing Rebecca was like she’s won 17 titles and she’s just not inherently bad, but just misguided.
So it’s just really fun to play her because she was just so mean.
What initially attracted you to the role of Rebecca?
So while we were shooting the Kept Mistress Killer, Ken Sanders, who’s one of the producers asked me about or said to me because I was talking to Jeff Hardwick, the casting director, and saying how it’s fun to play the monster and so Jeff tells me you’re interested in playing something more, more bad girl type. And I’m like, yes, I mean because it’s so much fun to play the bad guy. So when they went to go shoot Nightmare Pageant Moms, Lyndon Ashbury was the director on that.
And I had worked with him on The Heart of the Manor, which was also through Ken and Jeff in 2020.
So it was great to get to work with Linden again. And he said I just wanted to offer you the role, but we needed you do audition and it was just so much fun. And also the thing that attracted me to playing Rebecca Bordeaux in Nightmare Pageant Moms is because I do have a pageant background. I was miss Cape Cod in 1990 and the Miss America program and a couple other titles along the way.
