Kabby Borders, Brianna Butler, and Adam Harper star in the movie ‘The Girl with no name’ premiered on Lifetime Movie Network on Thursday July 25th, 2024 at 8/7c. We at Survived The Shows had the incredible chance to talk with star Brianna Butler, who teased the movie and her experience in The Girl with no name. Check out the full interview below!
Can you tell us a bit about your character in The Girl with no Name?
I play the role of Daisy, childhood best friend of main character Fiona, and head of logistics at the largest vineyard in town.
What initially attracted you to your role in The Girl with no Name?
I was attracted to Daisy’s radiant spirit and all the layers that she has. She’s a big dreamer like myself and is willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish them; even if it gets her in trouble sometimes.
What do you think makes this movie so special and captivating?
The movie is captivating because of all the different plot twists. It keeps you guessing who the culprit is and why. You’d never see the end coming and those are the stories I enjoy the most!
What do you hope audiences take away from watching The Girl with no Name?
I hope the audience takes away the importance of following their passions or what they know is right, even when it seems the odds are stacked against them.
What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?
Working with the cast was an absolute blast. We had a lot of fun bonding, laughing, and doing silly tik toks between scenes. I made some new amazing friendships that I feel will be long lasting as well. Everyone was so talented and kind hearted. I hope to work with them again soon.
What can you tease about your character Journey?
My character loved her best friend dearly but her ambitions definitely clout her judgement. You never know what’s really going on in that head of hers.
What was your favorite scene or moment while filming The Girl with no Name?
My favorite scene to film was when I locked Fiona in the basement. It was a real shift in my characters storyline and a shocking one! This was my first time playing a villain and it was fun to explore that as a an actor.
Change of subject, What have been some of the most memorable projects you have worked on throughout your career, and why?
Some of my most memorable projects worked on are AMC’s “The Walking Dead” because it is a well respected show that filmed for over a decade, FX “Atlanta S2” because I am such a fan of the show so to be casted In it was a dream, not to mention it was my debut role as a professional actor, and the show won an Emmy! So lots of sentimental value with Atlanta, BET +’s “Infidelity” because it was my first time as a the leading lady, BET’s “America Soul” because it was a cool period piece based off of the evolution of soul train in the 70’s where I played a very feisty character “Rose” and the reboot of “The Game” where I recurred as India Baroque. I was obsessed with the original show. It was an absolute dream to work alongside some of the original main cast members.
At Survived the Shows, we are big fans of Christmas rom-coms. What is your all-time favorite?
I will be biased and say my favorite Christmas rom coms are the 2 I filmed on Hallmarks Movies “Christmas Everlasting” and TV One’s “Christmas Dilemma”
Can you tease something about your next projects?
I recently welcomed my second baby girl (Jordyn Taylor Hughes) into the world a week ago so am taking some time off to spend with my family, but looking forward to getting back into filming shortly. Perhaps with another Lifetime movie or a series regular role.
“The Girl with no name” starring Brianna Butler will premiered on Thursday, July 25th on Lifetime Movie Network.
