UPTV ‘s movie “A Match for the Prince”, is all set to premiered on the channel on Sunday June 16th, 2024 at 8/7c. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with star Ferelith Young about her experience in the making of A Match for the Prince and what fans can expect from the movie.
Can you tell us a bit about your character in A Match For the Prince and what initially attracted you to your role in A Match For the Prince?
Yes, absolutely. So I play Nora, as you said, Princess Valdoria. My, I would say my initial attraction, aside from being able to play a princess, because who doesn’t want to play a princess with a british accent? And I think, you know, the main thing that was exciting for me is that it’s sort of a new twist on an old story. Nora is a character who is kind of born to lead, and she’s in the place of, because she’s a woman, she’s not, it’s not possible for her to. It’s a modern. It’s like old World meets new world. You know, I think that’s what was so exciting for me is it’s this old traditions and customs coming up against new. And to play alongside Jamie and Paniz and their love story, which is also this, like, battle of wills, I think that was the thing that was, for me, the most interesting about the role.
And what do you think makes this movie so special and captivating?
I think aside from this, like I said, this kind of old world meets new world, I think it’s, I think that from, I think that’s probably what makes it the most captivating, is this, you know, you’re sort of seeing two people battle with what it means to be a woman and to be in charge of her own career. And then this man who’s struggling with the responsibility that’s placed on him and his sort of journey, I think, of finding out what he really wants, what his heart is calling to him about. I think Nora’s flaw, like Nora’s character arc, kind of coincides with that throughout. And her ability to help him, help her brother find out what he really wants really allows her to, you know, find herself.
