The new Lifetime Thriller movie, Murdaugh Murders: The Movie, premiered on the channel on Saturday October 14, 2023 (Part 1) and Sunday October 15, 2023 (Part 2). We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with star Jess Brown about her experience in the making of Murdaugh Murders: The Movie and what fans can expect from the movie.
Can you tell us a bit about your character Lindsey Edwards?
Lindsay is not someone who is highly featured in a lot of stories surrounding the family. However she has spoken out about her experiences. She did have some one-on-one experiences with Alec and without giving too much away, there are a lot of victims of this man. A lot living and some tragically not here anymore.
What initially attracted you to the role of Lindsey Edwards in “Murdaugh Murders: The Movie ”?
And yeah, Lindsay is one of those survivors what attracted me. I think as actors we’re constantly looking for ways to connect with people and what better way to connect with a character than to represent a real person. I think that was like a very, a very big draw. There was a lot of circumstances that this woman went through that I’m fortunate enough to not have shared experiences which caused me to do a lot of learning.
And I think that is just the cherry on top of the work that you would generally do for a character. And yeah, I don’t often get to play characters of this kind and to tell someone’s story. I think is an honor. Well, there’s a reason that there’s a docu series, there’s, you know, this movie, there’s podcasts being made about the subject matter. It’s clearly a very attractively thrilling subject.
