We at Survived the Shows had the incredible chance to speak with star Matt Hamilton, who teased Lifetime’s Deadly Wives Club and his experience in the movie. Can you tell us a bit about your character in Deadly Wives Club?
Jack is the husband who gets the job in Predator Ridge, which is a real place, by the way. It’s kind of fun. It sounds like the scariest place in the world, too. Predator Ridge and his wife. His wife comes along. They have an adopted child, and she thinks some nefarious things are going on. I think she’s overreacting, and there’s a lot of that until things go bad. And she was right. She was right. But I kind of come around. A bit on it for. So I’m not a total ignorant of jackass.
What initially attracted you to your role in Deadly Wives Club?
I got offered it. With David, the director, I’ve worked in eight movies together. So it was an offer, and to be honest, it was like coming out of the writers strike, so it was like, I was probably going to say yes to anything. But this role was fun, because this guy. Jack’s ignorant. Like, he kind of is gaslighting his wife. Not intentionally, but he just. So it’s not out of malice. He just is ignorant to the situation that’s around him. I know a couple times I tried to tone it down. Like, tone the it down a bit.
The producers didn’t totally want that, which I don’t know if I agree with, but I haven’t seen the movie, so maybe it worked out, but he kind of he’s not really there if they’re having marital issues and he’s not really there for his wife, and he’s focused on work, and he’s just kind of ignorant is the best way to put it. But again, he comes around at the end and helps save the day…. Spoiler alert!
