Can you tell us a bit about your character in Secrets between Sisters?
So Rufus is quite the troubled soul. He has a lot of demons coming into this film and this story. And like any good Lifetime movie, he serves his purpose to the plot and having everyone wonder, is it him? Is it not? And I won’t give any spoilers to what actually happens. But I really enjoyed working on this particular project because throughout the film, there are many points where you feel like maybe it is Rufus who’s the bad guy, because he comes across that way. And frankly, I play a lot of not so likable characters. But, you know, he’s got a soft spot and he’s doing everything for a reason. And I think people hopefully will like him a little bit or maybe feel for him, even though he can be tough.
What initially attracted you to your role in Secrets between Sisters?
I play a lot of characters who come across as overbearing or intense. But something about Rufus that I liked was he came from a very, you know, lower class background. I play a lot of finance guys and douchebags and just people who are maybe a little on their high horse. And I liked there was a very gritty side to Rufus. He’s very blue collar. And that was different for me. I really enjoyed exploring that part of my craft and that character.
