EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW – Star Presley Allard Breaks Down Lifetime’s Would you Kill for me? The Mary Bailey Story!

Share:

The new Lifetime movie, Would you Kill for me? The Mary Bailey Story, will premiere on the channel on Saturday October 28, 2023. We at Survived The Shows had the pleasure of chatting with star Presley Allard, who plays Mary, about her experience in the making of Would you Kill for me? The Mary Bailey Story and what fans can expect from the movie.

Can you tell us a bit about your character Mary Bailey?

PRESLEY ALLARD: Mary Bailey was a kind and caring 11-year-old girl who lived in a very unstable household. Her mom was always out partying, and her stepdad was abusive to everyone in the family. Her dad wasn’t in the picture, so it was basically her grandmother who was raising her.

What initially attracted you to the role of Mary in “Would you kill for me? The Mary Bailey Story”?

This was my first lead role, so I was very excited by the opportunity to play Mary Bailey. I knew there would be a lot of sad and scary scenes involved with this role, but I was excited by the challenge of getting into character and pulling them off believably. Up until now, I hadn’t had much of a chance to do more serious roles like this, so I was happy to show a different side of my acting.

What do you think makes the action in the movie so special and captivating?

I think what makes it so captivating is the fact that it’s based on a true story. As wild as the storyline seems at times, everything in the movie really did happen to the real Mary Bailey.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching “Would you kill for me? The Mary Bailey Story”?

I think the important lesson of the movie is that violence is never okay. If you’re experiencing violence at home, you should reach out to someone for help. Also, you should trust your gut. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.

What was it like working with the rest of the cast on set?

It was a very fun set, despite the dark material we were filming, because of how amazing the people were. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and over time, we all became good friends. When we were not filming, we would be hanging out in each others’ trailers, or doing puzzles together. We hung out after work almost every night.

What can you tease about your character Journey?

My character goes through a lot in this movie, but I think she learns a lot from it and grows as a person. She goes from being shy and overly trusting to more confident and able to stand up for herself.

What was your favorite scene or moment while filming “Would you kill for me? The Mary Bailey Story”?

I liked filming the hospital scenes because they were actually filmed inside of a closed down nun’s convent. It was very cool and creepy in  there. It was also fun seeing how they made it look like a hospital instead of a convent.

8. Can you tell us about any challenges you faced while filming “Would you kill for me? The Mary Bailey Story” and how you overcame them?

The biggest challenge I faced was filming some of the most intense and personal scenes with the real Mary Bailey on set. I felt a lot of pressure to get it right for her. Thankfully, Mary was so kind and encouraging and she made me feel a lot more at ease.

Can tell us something about your time as the young Sam in the tv series Good Sam?

I played young Sam in an episode that showed how she had been seriously injured in a car accident as a kid. The episode revealed important details about the accident and her family’s past, so it was a fun one to be a part of.

Can you tease something about your next projects?

Currently, I am in the audition process for an exciting project in the U.S., but because of the actors’ strike, that has been put on hold. In the meantime, I continue to audition for fun Canadian projects.
