Stakiah Lynn Washington, Terayle Hill and Christie Leverette star in Killer Beat, a new, original movie premiered Thursday June 27th on Tubi Channel. We at Survived the Shows had the incredible chance to speak with star Terayle Hill, who teased Tubi’s Killer Beat and his experience in the movie. Check out the full interview in the video below!
Can you tell us a bit about your character in Killer Beat?
My character plays Young Reckless, definitely one of the leads of the project, because, you know, he’s an important character to the storyline. It’s in the trailer, I think I can tell people, my character doesn’t make it through the entire film, but my character’s demise is actually what sparks the storyline. But he’s a young rapper, definitely one of the bigger ones in the world of Killer Beat. So when he does pass away, it’s a big deal. However, it sets off a chain reaction of a bunch of events that lead to an incredible film.
What initially attracted you to your role in Killer Beat?
Oh, director boogie. Boogie had sent out the script and when I gave it a look, I was just impressed with it because, one, I wasn’t expecting all the plot twists that were happening from literally the first page as I’m reading it and I’m like, as the first page is, I guess you guys would know what the first page looked like. But in the world of, like, tv and film, directors do an incredible job of showing you all what the script looks like. But when you’re reading it line for line, you don’t know what’s going to happen next when you’re reading it for the first time. I myself liked the way that there were twists and turns and I think that was one of the most attractive things about the project. I really enjoyed my read of it. And then, of course, being on set, working with everybody was a lot of fun. So, you know, a lot of highlights.
