Can you tell us a bit about your character in This Time Each Year?
Bart. I played Bart, and he’s the brother of Niall Matter, and, and he’s more like just the silly, the silly idiot brother who’s a lot of fun and just kind of creates a lot of comedic moments and stuff. So it’s brings a lot of levity to the whole movie, but with everyone else. But he’s that kind of character, but he’s always there for his brother. He’s always just motivated him, trying to get him back on track, you know, in his own way. But, yeah, it was a lot of fun to play him.
What initially attracted you to your role in This Time Each Year?
But that was it. I don’t get very many chances to play the comedic part. I played a few of the lead, more stoic characters, you know, like the love interest. So it’s a lot more kind of subtle. So I loved it. I was really excited when I found out I got the part because I’ve never really had the chance to mess around like I did with this character. And Crystal, the director, was amazing. And we talked before, after I booked it, we talked about the characters, but she gave me so much freedom just to kind of play around and throw around ideas. I mean, on these movies, you don’t have a lot of time to really kind of go out there, but we did. We tried our best to just, you know, change things up and have a lot of fun. So it was good. It was a good challenge for me.
