Can you tell us a bit about the storyline of “Christmas in Maple Hills”?

JENNIFER SNOW: Christmas in Maple Hills is a heartwarming story about a family who are at risk of losing their dairy farm unless they can figure out who this mysterious man is who owns their land. Someone from the grandmother’s past. Told in a dual romance/timeline, it has an element of mystery as the story unfolds. The leads try to solve the mystery of an old Christmas card before the holiday season.

What initially attracted you to the incipit in “Christmas in Maple Hills”?

JENNIFER SNOW: I really loved the idea of an old Christmas card from wartime being found that creates a family mystery that the leads have to work together to solve. It was fun to write the dual timeline with the flashbacks. I enjoyed the research that went into writing this one. Learning about USO Hostesses and the role they played in wartime efforts.

What do you think makes the romance in the movie so special and captivating?

JENNIFER SNOW: I think the romance in this one is special because the heroine has a perception of her family and their ‘love at first sight’ relationships that is tested throughout the story, but she never gives up on that idea for herself and ultimately finds it in the hero.

What do you hope audiences take away from watching “Christmas in Maple Hills”?

JENNIFER SNOW: I hope audiences will enjoy the movie for it’s focus on family being together for the holidays. And the different variations of love portrayed throughout from the romantic love to the connections between the leads and their families.

What was your favorite scene or moment while writing “Christmas in Maple Hills”?

JENNIFER SNOW: My favorite scene was when the leads look through the hero’s old photo albums for clues about who this mysterious man from the grandmother’s past could be. The scene is set so beautifully and the two really connect as the heroine learns secrets she never knew about her grandmother’s involvement with the war efforts.

Can you tease something about your next projects?

JENNIFER SNOW: I’m excited to be writing more holiday scripts for 2024. But it’s too soon to reveal too much about those! Lots of rom-com stories coming next year and I have a new book releasing in fall 2024 through Canary Street Press.
