One year after moving from Chicago to Paris for her dream job, Emily finds herself at a crucial crossroads in every aspect of her life. The actors have been cast in guest-starring roles with Forman set to play Nicolas de Leon and Kreiling attached to the role of Sofia Sideris.

Forman’s Nicolas de Leon is a crown prince who is described as a dutiful executive of his family’s high-powered conglomerate, JVMA. Leading a seemingly charmed life, Nicolas de Leon is put under immense pressure despite his endless source of wealth, status, and access as he tries to prove himself as more than just a nepotism hire. While Emily would kill to be in business with Nicolas, it’s an unexpected personal connection that draws them together.

Meanwhile, Kreiling’s Sofia Sideris is described as a beautiful Greek artist who has come to Paris to show at Camille’s (Camille Razat) gallery. But Sofia’s time in the city takes an unexpected turn when she finds herself entangled in a passionate love affair.

Lily Collins Teases More Love Triangles and Drama in ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 3

Lily Collins spoke with ET at the Ralph Lauren 2023 Spring-Summer fashion show in San Marino, California. During the interview, she playfully addressed what fans can expect when the new season drops on Dec. 21.

“More love triangles, more drama, more laughs, more fashion, more locations, more France!” she said. And with the show already renewed for a fourth season, Collins also noted that there would be room for “a lot of cliffhangers.”

Of course, Collins played coy when asked to divulge more about the season’s ending, but offered this intriguing nugget: “The last episode feels like five in one.”

In addition to her starring role, Collins has also been working behind the scenes as a producer on the project.

“It’s been incredible,” she said. “I’ve learned so much and I’m super grateful for the team to inspire me to continue voicing myself and owning my ideas, and it’s been a dream job.”

At the series’ New York premiere on Thursday night, the cast of “Emily in Paris” spoke to Variety about the indecisive nature of human behavior and the juicy love triangles that will unfold in Season 3.

“[Emily] is indecisive and yet weirdly decisive. But then the second she picks a lane, it all gets messed up,” Collins told Variety at the French Consulate General, adding that she relates to her character’s uncertainty. “I feel like I like to sit in the middle of decisions sometimes and overthink a lot. Emily has to focus on one thing at a time now, and I admire that she’s finally making some decisions.”

The love triangle between Emily, her hot chef neighbor Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and her kind-hearted friend Camille (Camille Razat) will continue to unravel this season. While Emily is in a long-distance relationship with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), her feelings for Gabriel haven’t faded. As his relationship with Camille becomes more serious, Bravo believes Gabriel needs to take some responsibility and acknowledge his feelings for Emily.

The best way to get untangled from this is not to be a victim and to own up to mistakes,” Bravo said. “I think the problem with Gabriel is that he plays victim all the time. It’s similar to denial: ‘It’s not my fault. I just love people and I’m in love with the idea of love.’ But in the end, you need to choose. Indecisiveness is also cowardice.”

Lucas Bravo hinted that Gabriel is in a bit a predicament himself

“Season 3 is for Gabriel, he is completely lost. He’s been kind of lost in season 1 and 2. He is kind of a man child trying to figure out what to do,” the French actor previewed. “He has ambition, but he doesn’t really put it out here yet. Before a big transition there is always that moment where you have to explode, so there is that moment and then it’s got to go into something magical. A new Gabriel.”

As for the other point of the Emily in Paris love triangle, Laviscount teased that Alfie’s journey “is chaotic” in season 3

“Without giving too much away, I feel like Alfie and Emily go on a roller-coaster and it’s juicy,” the British actor hinted, adding that by the time the season reaches the finale, there will be at least “three” big cliffhangers heading into the fourth season.

Kate Walsh said the upcoming third season of the Netflix series is “the best season yet” and teased major drama for her character

“They should be excited because it’s the best season yet,” Walsh said. “It’s more fabulous, more gorgeous locations. It really felt like Paris, and France in general, really just opened their doors to us. They were like, ‘What do you need? We’ll give it.'”

“The first three episodes are bananas,” Walsh revealed. “There’s a great triangle you’ll see between Philippine’s character Sylvie, Emily and Madeline, my character, that’s just great.”

Ashley Park teases a special musical performance in Emily in Paris Season 3

“With the music in season three, it feels like we’re exploring really different genres and really different parts of Mindy,” Ashley revealed. “I come from a musical theater background, so I really love when a song or performance isn’t just about the performance, but there’s storytelling in it.”

Ashley said one season three performance in particular excited her the most.

“You’ll know which one I’m talking about when you see it,” she said. “It’s a cover of a song, but it’s in a way that we haven’t heard it. It’s really intwined in what’s happening in the story. I haven’t gotten to see it, either. But I’m really excited about that one.”

Lily Collins Says Friendship With Camille Is ‘Important’ in Season 3

“Emily’s friendship with Camille is important,” Collins says, adding that Emily can now focus on romance with banker Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), whose friendship with Gabriel “makes things complicated.”

Lily Collins teases ‘ultimate cliffhanger’ in Emily in Paris season 3

So we know Emily is sort of at a crossroads when it comes to just about every part of her life. What can you tell us about her journey this season and how all that plays out?

LILY COLLINS: Emily, every season, is becoming more and more grounded within her time in Paris and her surroundings, whether that’s at work, whether it’s in her personal life with her girlfriends, even her fashion, her French language. So we are left with these huge life decisions stuck between two countries, two men, and two jobs. And I think we find her at those crossroads at the very beginning of the season, and we get to see her throughout it become more quietly confident, and solid in her decision-making process, and able to really focus on her instincts and her heart as opposed to thinking too much about things.

Can we expect any resolution from the Alfie vs. Gabriel situation?

Well, I can say that Emily makes a decision, and for the first part of the season, we get to see her really exploring one specific path. But then, in the sixth episode, you start to see it kind of veer. And in the finale, it all kind of blows up. [Laughs] So the finale really is the ultimate cliffhanger yet again, because there’s about five different things that happened in the span of however many minutes that all of a sudden makes you wish there was a season 4 right away. So the second that she makes decisions, things start happening again. But it definitely will leave you guessing.

The friendship between Mindy (Ashley Park) and Emily is one of the highlights of the show. What can we expect for that dynamic duo this season?

Well, thank you for saying that. Because for me, it’s also a really important part of the show, this female camaraderie, this representation of these incredible, unapologetic, work-driven, unapologetically themselves women, who are just fierce in their fields and within their lives. And specifically with Mindy, we’re living together, we’re experiencing boy drama together, we are watching each other thrive and work together. And then for the first time, we get to see this experience of having something caught in the middle of the two of us impact things.

It’s like any real friendship that one has with their female friends, and I can speak specifically for myself, that there may be bumps in the road or difficult conversations to be had, but that only strengthens your bond, and you get through those conversations. It’s not like if you bring up something and talk through it that your friendship is going to be gone. I think it’s important for Emily and Mindy to have a very real relationship and it be portrayed that not everything goes their way all the time. So it’s just the idea that we represent this friendship in a real and grounded way.

What can you tease that maybe hasn’t been in the promos so far?

Well, personally, as a producer of the show, I was so excited to be able to showcase the other actors more this season and have their storylines really thrive in the workplace and in their personal lives on the show. I’m so so proud of each and every one of our cast. And it was a pleasure to get to see all the work that they did in things that don’t involve Emily’s storyline. I think it’s really important for the fabric of the show. So I’m just really excited for people to see all of that.

The show always features iconic French locales. Did you have a favorite this season?

I mean, shooting at the top of the Eiffel Tower will definitely go down in the books of something I never thought that I would get to say that I’ve done, let alone do, and it was just a real joy. And I feel very, very grateful to the city of Paris for opening up the city to us and allowing us to film in all of these iconic locations. It makes the show the show and we’re so grateful.

If you were Emily, would you personally make the decision to stay in Paris?

Oh yes. I would want to continue exploring Paris and have all the experiences. Also, it’s not a bad place to be knowing that there’s a train ride away to many other countries. So I would definitely want to stay in Paris and explore all the other countries that were nearby and pop over for an adventure somewhere.

Premiere details have now been revealed for the upcoming season 3.

However, the streamer is expected to share some special news about the series at the annual Tudum virtual event on Saturday, September 24. The global event will feature exclusive news, never-before-seen footage, trailers, and first-looks, as well as interviews with Netflix’s biggest stars and creators.

As teased in the promo, above, Emily’s torn between what’s safe and what will push her out of her comfort zone.

“This is the hardest decision I have ever had to make, but it’s just something that I have to do,” Emily says as images of the bosses and boys she’s torn between keep her caught in the middle. Finally, with some liquid courage, Emily exclaims, “It’s Paris!”

That is, before she takes scissors to her forehead, fashioning herself some severely uneven bangs. Upon seeing the results, Emily’s bestie and roommate Mindy (Ashley Park) laments, “Emily, no!” Is the action a cry for help?

It seems like Emily thinks Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) believes that. “Are you OK, Emily?” he asks innocently before she answers defensively, “They’re just bangs! Sometimes people cut bangs when everything’s fine!” Whether everything’s fine or not, fans will get to see for themselves as Season 3 begins one year after Emily moved from Chicago to Paris for her dream job. Now faced with two very different paths, Emily has to decide where her loyalties lie in both her work and romantic life.

Will Kim Cattrall be on Emily in Paris?

Actress Kim Cattrall made a surprise red carpet appearance at the season three premiere of Emily in Paris on Dec. 6, fueling rumors of a potential cameo as her iconic Sex and the City character Samantha Jones. As for whether the star will ever pop up on the Netflix series—which comes from SATC creator Darren StarLily Collins exclusively said on the Dec. 14 episode of E! News (airing tonight at 11:30 p.m.), “We wanna know that, too.”
