Is Melissa Ponzio Coming Back on Chicago Fire Season 11?

Donna Boden (Melissa Ponzio) is always a welcome presence on Chicago Fire. She first appeared in season 2, and has since been one of the reliable supporting characters who flesh out the world beyond the 51.

Her appearances have been rare as the show has progressed, as she only came out in a single season 10 episode, and 2 episodes in season 9, but she’s always nearby to provide some levity and flesh out Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) as a character.

So can we expect to see more of her in season 11?

Chicago Fire Season 11: Preview on 11×03 Completely Shattered! – SYNOPSIS

What happened to Donna on Chicago Fire?

Thankfully, the answer is yes. Donna, played by Melissa Ponzio, will be back in action during the current season of Chicago Fire. The news was confirmed by showrunner Derek Haas, when asked which supporting characters would make their way into upcoming storylines.

Haas told TV Insider that Donna and Cindy will be among the familiar faces that inhabit the 51.

“You’re going to get to see some faces that you haven’t seen in a while, which is Boden’s son, Terrence, it’s been a couple years at least since we had a Terrence appearance. So he’s back and we’ll see our usuals: Cindy [Robyn Coffin] and Donna [Melissa Ponzio].”

While Melissa Ponzio ’s role on Chicago Fire may be limited, she’s continued to shine in larger roles on other shows like Teen Wolf and The Walking Dead. She also appeared in the superhero comedy Thunder Force (2021) and will star in the upcoming streaming release Teen Wolf: The Movie.
